Garanti Bank’s Bonus Card customers are now able to make payments at PayPoint
Bucharest, 16 July 2014 – PayPoint Romania, the country’s main retail-based cash and mobile payments operator, and Garanti Bank, one of the most innovative and dynamic banks operating in Romania, have entered into a partnership to enable Garanti Bank’s Bonus Card customers to make payments at PayPoint’s nationwide network of neighbourhood shops. Bonus Card holders are able to pay their credit card debt in three easy steps: 1. They take the Bonus Card statement into the PayPoint store 2. The shop assistant scans the barcode printed on the statement and takes the amount owed from the customer 3. The terminal issues a receipt that contains all the details of the transaction, confirming the payment, date and location. PayPoint’s terminals can be found in over 8,350 neighbourhood stores nationwide, in both rural and urban areas. Consumers can access the company’s agent locator at www.paypoint.com/romania to find the nearest PayPoint store. “We aim to constantly improve satisfaction levels among our customers, so we are very pleased to be working in partnership with PayPoint to offer Bonus Card holders convenient, comfortable, time-saving and easy-to-use options for making their monthly payments,” said Anca Motca, Deputy General Manager, Garanti Bank. “This partnership brings Bonus Card’s users a flexible and modern solution for making their monthly payments. We have no doubt that Garanti Bank’s customers will appreciate the advantages of PayPoint’s solution because it satisfies their desire for transparency, safety and convenience, all of which are really important issues for consumers, especially when it comes to financial services. Payments can be made at any of our 8,350-plus neighbourhood stores, almost all of which have extended opening hours, at the same time they do their daily shopping. This helps them save time with no extra effort or additional fees, which are just a few of the benefits that make our service so popular,” added Mugur Dogariu, Managing Director, PayPoint Romania. Bonus Card is a unique product in Romania, because it is the most sophisticated payment instrument in the country, both for consumers and merchants. Cardholders collect a bonus every time they make a transaction, whether in Romania or abroad, which is converted into money that can be used at a later date for free shopping in Bonus Card’s network of partners. Bonus Card holders may also choose to pay in installments, at 0% interest, enjoying a flexible number of payments, based on their individual needs. Bonus Card has a large network of more than 5,000 partner stores in Romania. Bonus Card customers can also use it to refinance their debts by transferring any debts from other cards or personal loans issued by other banks to the card and then pay them back in either 36 installments with no interest or make a single repayment of the full amount less a 10% discount after a six months’ grace period.
