GazVest bills can now be paid through PayPoint terminals in Romania

Bucharest, 17 July 2014 – PayPoint Romania, the main retail-based cash and mobile payment operator in Romania, has signed an agreement with S.C. GazVest S.A to enable the gas company’s customers in the counties of Timis, Arad, Satu Mare, Bihor and Gorj to pay their bills at local neighbourhood shops with PayPoint terminals. Making a payment through PayPoint terminals installed in convenience stores is easy. GazVest’s customers simply take their bill to the nearest PayPoint store, where the shop assistant scans the barcode printed on the bill, takes the customer’s payment in cash and gives them a receipt with the details of the transaction (date, amount, location etc). The whole operation takes just a few moments and so reduces considerably the amount of time people need to spend paying their bills. “We are continually enhancing the service we provide to Romanian consumers by adding an increasing number of regional gas, electricity, water and sewerage suppliers whose bills can be paid at our terminals. This is part of our mission to meet consumer demand for a simple, local payment service so we are very pleased that consumers in Western and South-Western Romania are now able to pay their gas bills through our quick, secure and convenient system that more and more Romanians have come to trust,” said Mugur Dogariu, Managing Director, PayPoint Romania. “We are pleased that we can also offer our clients a new, more convenient payment option for their gas bills, especially in places where we do not offer other means of payment,” added a representative from GazVest. This agreement continues the rapid expansion of the range and breadth of bills that can be paid through PayPoint by residents of Western Romania. Along with gas bills, they can make a wide variety of payments, including for road tax, water and sewerage, electricity, mobile phone plans, internet and cable TV, as well as top up prepaid mobile phones, and even transfer money both internally and internationally, at selected PayPoint locations.
