Welwyn Garden City, 26 October 2023: PayPoint and obconnect have been announced as the winners of the Best Open Banking Partnership – Consumer, at the 2023 Open Banking Awards.

Voted on by over 50 industry leaders, PayPoint and obconnect won the award for their Open Banking solutions which have transformed the way payments are processed and received.

These include: devising a solution that allows individuals to easily collect their EBSS (Energy Bill Support Scheme) payments either in cash from PayPoint stores or receive funds directly into their bank accounts using Open Banking, leading the way in promoting financial inclusion by providing the ability for consumers to top-up their Utility pre-paid meters using Payment Initiation Services (PISP), and doubling down on OpenPay – a unique cost-effective alternative to cheques and bank transfers.
